Our volunteer community is the backbone of our work with students. We rely on volunteers to help serve in each of our local Areas and at our Martha’s Vineyard Study Center. Check out specific opportunities below.
Area Ministry Volunteers
FOCUS alumni, parents of current students, school faculty members, and other volunteers help lead student meetings and special events, assist with scheduling and logistics, or join one of our Area Sponsoring Committees — all under the direction of the local Area Director from FOCUS staff.
National Program Volunteer Leaders help lead National Programs under the direction of the Program Director, who is typically a FOCUS staff member. Each summer over 100 alumni, faculty, and friends of FOCUS serve as volunteer leaders.
One of the things students love most about our Summer Programs is the amazing food! As a kitchen volunteer at our Martha’s Vineyard Study Center, you’ll help prepare delicious and healthy meals under the direction of our Food Services Manager. (No previous experience required!) Each summer, nearly 100 kitchen volunteers are the secret ingredient for making our Summer Programs as memorable as they can be.
Each of FOCUS’ eleven areas depends on volunteers who work with students weekly at meetings and events during the school year. Area volunteers are trained by our staff and are an invaluable part of our community. If you are interested in volunteering in a FOCUS area near you, please contact the Area Director geographically closest to you. Find your area below to get more information.
