This 12-day adventure begins in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, where our group will be staying at a one of a kind cabin nestled away at the base of M. Princeton. At 8,700 feet above sea level, surrounded by nature, this spot is an ideal location to serve as our homebase for the first half of the program. While here we will be fly fishing, searching out some of the best fishing spots in the state. Skilled guides will teach beginners and support advanced fishermen, surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains. From here we will be heading to our basecamp in Buena Vista, Colorado for the remainder of the program. Partnering with Colorado’s largest and most experienced whitewater rafting and adventure company, we will explore Browns Canyon on an unforgettable day-long rafting trip. The following day we will embark on a climbing and rappelling adventure: exploring natural rock walls and dramatic cliffs with breathtaking views and exhilarating climbs and rappels. Our trip will culminate with a three-day guided backpacking trip. Experience the Collegiate Peaks and Buffalo Peaks Wilderness Area in this incredible opportunity of adventure, while learning and growing together.
The beauty of the mountains and the peace of the wilderness stand in striking contrast with our full and busy lives. During this trip in the remarkable setting of the Rocky Mountains, students will build community, develop character, and have the opportunity to hear talks and engage in discussions about the Christian faith.

  • Day 1: Arrive to Denver Airport and travel as a group to our cabin
  • Days 2-5: Fly Fishing Lessons and Practice (instruction)
  • Day 6: Head to our Basecamp in Buena Vista
  • Day 7: Whitewater Rafting

Please plan on arriving at the Denver airport before 3:00pm on the day the program begins (arrival day), and departing after 1:00pm on the day the program ends (departure day). FOCUS will meet students at the Denver airport before traveling together as a group to our cabin in Buena Vista. Due to the distance from the airport, we are unable to accommodate flights outside of these time constraints.

Please do not make any travel plans until you have received the acceptance email (not just the submission confirmation email).

Our cancellation and refund policy is as follows: full refund before May 15; no refund after May 15 unless we are able to fill the open spot in the program.
