Welcome Parents
What Is FOCUS?
FOCUS is a diverse community of students, alumni, parents, faculty, clergy, and professionals from a variety of Christian denominations drawn together by a common faith and purpose. Through school meetings, off-campus gatherings, area events, and our National Programs, we provide students with a community of peers and mentors with whom they can explore Christian faith and ask the most important questions about life.
This website should provide a helpful overview, but we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] with any specific questions.

Local Area Ministries
FOCUS has ten area locations along the East Coast. Our local staff and volunteers serve independent schools and their students, hosting both on-campus and off-campus meetings and events. A typical, weekly FOCUS event for middle or high school students is one to two hours long, and includes games, food, lots of fun, and a short discussion about the Christian faith. Many areas also provide monthly weekend hang-out nights, community service opportunities, and the like to encourage community and leadership development. National Programs
Most of our week-long Summer Programs are hosted at our 30-acre Study Center. on the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard. Mornings begin with a delicious breakfast that launches students into an action-packed day of classic games, sailing, hiking, trips to town or the beach, bike rides, and relaxing with new friends on the property. All this fun is interspersed with times of teaching, discussion, and reflection about life and faith.
